Default skunk advise

Hi dont know if anyone could help got a skunk about two weeks ago with several wounds. (on nose neck and back). Were told that wounds were bite wounds and were treated as such. They dont however seem to be getting any better and she now starting to scratch them quite a lot. Hopefully taking her back to the vet tomorrow but just wondered if any one had any idea on what they could be.

The vet may need to do a swab and culture on the wounds to determine if any infection has set in. Skunks do not have the cleanest mouths in the world and bites from them tend to go septic. I should imagine a course of antibiotics will be necessary to clear up the infection.

if they are bite woulds, just a trip to the vet for anti biotics should do the trick.. but careful its not ring worm =) coz in the picture it looks quite round.. again the vet can tell you this better than us. =)

The vets says she still thinks they are just bites. Has now given us some antibiotics for them to see if that helps. Poor thing not sure her nose will ever look right thou
