Default Up 24/7 with sick glider....

My Glider Pikachu was taken ill very suddenly a couple of nights ago...lifeless fitting and with a prolapse.i just had enough time to rush him tomy exotic vet.
To say i could pick him up and stroke him, cuddle him ect is an indication of just how unwell he was.He would often charge at me when i went to feed him and his twin or clean the cage so i always had to keep 1 eye on what i was doing and the other on him and lives upto the term "fluffy cobra".The vet gave him a shot straight into the bone in his leg to counteract his dehydration and a shot of anti biotics which were also perscribed along with some critical care....well took him
home thankful that i was even able to do so and started to nurse him...syringe feeding him the critical care and some yoghurt now & then....He perked up and the fitting eventually stopped and he started walking around on me.I stayed up until this sort of time thenput him in a small rub and into an empty 2ft pre heated viv while i had a nap....
He seemed ok today when i checked him and crabbed at me...a sure sign he was on the mend?unfortunately not...he took a turn for the worse again late this afternoon.I feared he wouldn't make the night again.I put him on my chest next to my skin and was just waiting for him to slip away and i dozed off...when i woke 4 hours later he was sat outside the towel that held him against my skin looking straight at me with those big eyes...he seemed a little better...i am up with him again tonight and will not sleep until i feel it is safe for me to do so...he is snuggled in my cleavage soundo...

Well guys it has not been easy staying up all night with my glider sleeping on my chest and then seeing the boys to school every morning and then having to collect them and cook and do house work and take care of the rest of the menagerie i have been totally dead on my feet
But hey my glider is still here and is almost fully recovered and i don't think that would have been possible if i hadn't have given so much of myself....
2 nights ago i was crying all the time because i was just waiting for him to slip away today i was crying with joy because he was so well, eating from my hand and drinking...I'm on such a high.I have also created a much stronger bond with him and was able for the first time ever today to pick him up without him drawing my blood and crabbing
Last night i tried to stay up again all night as i have to collect some new additions up the other end of the country..i was just sat here on the pc almost ready to leave then i got ill myself...thought i'd take a nap and next thing it was 1.30pm
So now i've had some decent sleep it is time to catch up...
Guess i'm gonna be a busy bee for the next week.
What can i say.....my animals are worth it
