Default Skunk diet question

While visiting Caz (Pouchie) today for our first skunk fest with Tom(Rain) & Kat(Reiyu) & our 5 skunks, I asked a question we were all kinda stumped on.......so all you skunkie experts out there, here is the question.

As we know the main part of a pet skunk is veg with a much smaller portion being fruit - too much fruit being bad for them.

However, which "section" do you categorise things like, Aubergine, Cucumber, Courgettes, Marrows, Pumpkin, Tomato's, Squash and others I cant remember

Do they come under fruit or veg?????

PS - thanks to Mr & Mrs Pouchie for hosting our first skunk meeting, much appreciated & what great fun spending an afternoon with 5 skunks & hundreds of rodents (and other critters too)

So your saying salad items are lumped in with the veg? OMG it could be a 3rd category Salad items actually fall under either fruit or veg & not one of their own going by the techical terms for fruit & veg

All the others in the list I gave are technically fruit as they carry seeds for the plant they originate from.......

My question is do we still put them in the fruit section as we do apples, pears etc, or as they are not as sugary as most common fruit, do they fit into the veg section - dont forget this is from a skunk diet point of view & not plant taxonomy or classification

Now ya got it Emma, now you got it.........

To be honest I have also been using tomato as a fruit just like you, but some of the others I was unsure of so have been feeding as fruit to be on the safe side.

Again this is why I posted the question, so that the others with loads of experience can pass on their knowledge & clear up the confusion in my head - well, just this fruit/veg confusion for now the rest can wait till the psychiatrist appointment comes through
