Default Why does my dog only growl at me!

Hey guys , I have a Jack russel Named Patch, hes a great dog who can do tricks ( roll over, beg, give paw etc.) But for some reason I'm the only one he growls at, now its not all the time, theres times when he'll come and sit next to me and stuff, but when hes playing with a ball, my mum/dad will go up to him and he'll be fine, when I go up to him hes growlin and showing his teeth, anyone know why this is?

ok i was kidding
is your dog just like this with his toy ?
how does he react if you remove his food bowl while he is eating ?

it could just be he is over excited with his toy and dosent really meen the growl in a bad way.
if it growled at me i would give a firm NO command then i would send the dog to its bed/cage for 5 mins to let it calm down

Well, the growl isnt mean cos i can basically put my face against his and he does nothing, I can even go as far as to put my finger in his mouth and he moves away so he doesnt bite, so could it be that hes just trying to be brave?

Ownership. His ball not yours. Just like in the wild when you see alpha males claiming a kill.

Have you teased him in the past. Dogs have a very long memory and it might be that he expects you to do somethin unsavoury and therefore its just that he doesnt trust you.

Because in his mind, he is superior to you and thus, he gets to tell you what do do.
