Default Yay, getting a Conure.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll come home from work with a yellow sided conure and full set up.

I work at a pet shop and we have some hand reared conures in at the moment and I love how there inquisitive and so tame already, so couldn't resist.

Last bird I had was a budgie when I was younger but always admired birds so great to have a more outgoing bird!

Oh and any good sites I can read up on. I'll be getting most of my advice from my colleages and the care sheet it's supplied with from the breeder. But always good to do extra homework.

What kind of info you looking for?

I breed Green Cheek conure mutations so feel free to PM me, or you can also get me on www.parrotlinks.com (look for charlie )

I love yellowsided & have just paired up some yellow split cinnamon cocks with Pineapple hens.......so hope to produce some very pretty babies during the upcoming breeding season

I've got him/her

Just settling into it's cage at the moment so keeping quiet.

Not too sure what kind of info really, training techniques mainly I guess as I'm familiar with the basics.

Not too sure on a name yet, I was thinking Stuwie as in from Family Guy, but still thinking for more options.

Lol just as I type hes started exploring his cage, started flicking the mirror

Pics will be up tomorrow.

I highly recommend carlycharlie (Ken), he is very knowledable about greencheeks and is currently hand raising two for me, a yellow bluesided and a pineapple. He is very patient to as he never complains about my constant asking questions

Here he is, I let him out in the room earlier so the top of the cage was open.

In his cage I have a piece of cuttle fish, water dish, 'complete' dry food fish and grit dish, 1 pedicure perch, 1 wooden perch, wooden ladder, a stainless steel mirror and 2 dangly toys.

I plan to get some apply tree branches for a couple of perches he can knore on, and either a dish or hangy device for fresh fruit and veg.

Any criticism and help on set up welcomed.

Also name ideas? I'm rubbish! Though of Stewie (from family guy) but not sure.
