Default The reasons I dont mind giving up my Saturday....

Even tho I work a full time job I still give up my Saturday to volunteer at the local animal centre which is listed with the British and Irish Society of zoos. I do a full day from 8am until 4:30pm but I feel it is worth only sunday off in the whole week as I am getting alot of experience and get to work with this list of species:

Pygmy Goats
Black Rats (Rattus Rattus)
Pymgy Dormice
Harvest Mice
Spiny Mice
Royal Python
Corn Snake
Leopard Gecko
Bearded Dragon
Inverts
Mara
Rhea
Dwarf Mongoose
Capuchin monkeys
Tamarin monkeys
Geoffrey's marmoset
Prevost squirrels
also alot of exotics birds I am still learning their names.

My favorites animals have to be the prevost squirrels who will run down and take food from your hand.

Its a very long hard days work and my muscles are usually sore the next day but I think its worth it

They arent in their enclosure yet as it is being built, I have even seen then yet just pop their food in quickly and thats it. Once the enclosure is finished and they are in there I will see fi I can get some pictures.

Bristol zoo has a really cool enclosure built to look like a kitchen that's full of rats. I'm pretty sure there were black rats there but not 100%, might be worth chasing up
