Wonder which wildlife centre in the Midlands he will land up in, I might get to see him .

It is so sad, you can't help wondering where he came from and who bred him and owned him once :o(

Surely it must belong to someone though? even if it has just got out or whatever? Very sweet and wish it was me that had came across it!! Wonder if anyone will claim it or if it will go and 'live' in the wildlife centre

what is the RSPCA take on escaped skunks though - I imagine they might not even check for a chip and if they did you'd have a fair few questions before they even thought about giving him back - or am I being cynical?

well from personal experiencenof this when Domino escaped and was found by the RSPCA, one of the girls suggested scanning him n luckily we had him chipped. They did ask me on the phone do i have the right license for him, n when i told them i didnt need one to keep him they gave him back no questions asked. The RSPCA need a license to board them overnight accordin to the inspector who came round to ours and if he hadnt have been chipped n they couldnt have found an appropriate place for him to go by the end of the day then he would have been put to sleep, again accordin to the inspector

That upset me a bit. They seemed to think it was a comedy news item, and all I could think was somebody has either lost their skunk, or some tosser has got hold of one to show off, it's sprayed them and they've let it loose.

Poor little bugger.

Think I might get Snugs chipped though just in case, although we are super careful with doors and him, it's prob best to be on the safe side.
