Default Houdini Hedgehog

My own fault but what a b****y day!

Busy weekend at the shop and forgotten what home looks like and to cap it all my "doting" mummy hedgehog managed to get out of her cage last night - my fault as I hadn't fastened the lid properly but what a performance to find her. Tipped the conservatory upside down to look for her, pulled everything out, sofas, TV, desk, filing cabinet, no choggie anywhere. Pulled everything out again just to make sure, no choggie. Moved into the kitchen, pulled everything out, cooker, fridge freezer, washer, plinths of the units, no choggie. Swiftly into the hall, not much in the way of furniture but still pulled the few bits out, no choggie. Thought I may be loosing the plot and checked all other choggie cages, no Hattie to be seen in any of them. Turfed the kids out of the living room in a very unpolite way - started to pull everything out bit by bit. Found choggie pooh - not nice but at least I was in the right place! Turned the whole place upside down and was down to the last piece of furniture, luck may be in but no, choggie nowhere to be seen behind it. Realised it had an open back and started to pull everything out, no choggie, pulled an old jumper out that had been stashed as part of a quick clean up before parents came round, totally disheartened and out fell a choggie!

Didn't know whether to throttle her or hug her but I will make sure the lid is on tonight

I bet you were frantic - I had a similar thing with one of my Leopard tortoises last week - he had settled down for the night around 4.00pm - at 8.30pm I checked on them and he had gone - I turned the whole bungalow upside down and was really starting to panic.

My OH checked outside just incase he had attempted to go out himself - nothing - then I went outside and there he was under a bin bag in the rain - he must have sneaked out while OH was in the computer room.

I am so glad you found her - she probably had a lovely time rumaging around.
