I am really lucky - my little one is quite clean - I only bath him once a month.

I have heard others need to clean their feet regularly though.

Hi Tom, I have 3, 4 on wednesday!! one of my girls is really messy and same as you i have to bath her every other week, but what I do because of there oil in their skin, i simply wet her down with water using a toothbrush to get most of it off, but then once a month all my babies gets a full head to toe in shampoo. Oh and every week all mine get a foot wash, where i lay a fleece at the bottom of the sink fill it up slightly with water and let them paddle, as running in there own wee and poo, can make there feet extremely sore.

Mine are both very clean so I do not bath very often.
Be very careful as over bathing will dry their skin out which can be sore for them.

mine get them every two days but they are just foot baths simply some thing in the bottom of the sink with about 2 cm of water and let them paddle the one thing you have have have to be careful for ((im a little confused nobody has mentioned it, maybe you already know)) to not let their head ears submurge into the water they will be reluctant to let it go in the water so you should have no problems but dont let them drink it. if so make sure they drink lots of clean water to clean their mouth out and as far as i know your all set i use luke warm water though - you will already know that though

also maybe things like aveeno oil or baby oil once a monh to help with quilling and dry skin if she has dry flaky skin it will come of when you gently shake the spines ((if i remember correctly?)) im sure your a great hoggy owner =] x

All my females are/have been clean, but my male is a mucky lad and needs his feet washing fairly often. I think some of them are just messier than others

If just water is enough to clean him off there's no actual need to use shampoo. I do sometimes bathe mine and when I do I use Beaphar Dirty Rat shampoo for small animals, which works well.
