Skunk Question

Me and my OH are thinking of getting a skunk and are well aware of the upkeep of them.My question is - How do people safeguard there house so that the skunk does not escape out of the windows or doors,especially whilst we are having hotter weather?

I keep the doors shut & turn the air con on

Mine actually sleep most of the day so its only an issue when they are awake & up out romaong around. Normally by this time I have shut the escape routes off & it tends to be evening time when its getting cooler anyway. If windows are high up with no means of climbing up to them you can still keep them open.

see ours are different to kens, ours get up periodically throughout the day so i couldnt trust leavin the kitchen door open as domino could escape out of a fully sealed padlocked box!!! we have chicken wire over the windows just in case he gets up onto the units.....n yes he has done before, climbed up the rabbit housing and along. the kitchen door stays closed and the handle is on upside down to be extra sure he cant open it cos i wouldnt put anything past him!
