They can make great pets for the right person, lots of research needs to be done though before taking on a skunk.

Ditto what Sallie said. I love mine & think they are great but I dont think they will be suitable for just anyone.

Do a search in this section of the forum as there are LOADS of previous topics about Skunks as pets.....plenty to read & learn. Plus try & go meet someone who keeps them & get an idea of what the score is - thats what I did before taking the plunge.

I love Skunks but they arent the pet for me. Ive had visiting skunks here and its wonderful as they are beautiful animals but listening to peoples experiances I know I couldnt cope with having my own. They sound like a naughty toddler with ADHD..........................................

I loveeeee my baby! lol, I have a skunk and have had her a few weeks now so can comment on how she has been, shes fully loaded but never ever sprayed, she isnt destructive and only plays with her toys although this could change, 99% of the time she goes in her litter tray or next to it and she walks great on a lead, she has never bitten and has lots of naps in the day, she sleeps on the bed at night and has the run of a full room which i feel is a minimum to offer her as they are very active and needs lots of distraction and lots of places to explore. she has a dog crate in the room which is open where she can go and sleep if she wants to but she mainly just gets in bed. She becomes most active in the evening until around 1am then flops on the bed until around 9am, wakes up for some breakfast and I walk her down to the goats on her harness, then walk her back up, then she sleeps and plays all day. I can honestly say she makes an amazing pet but they need lots of space time and commitment, definitly not for everyone! This is just my experience so far.

Ah coope, you make me sooo anxious to get my bubbas! You're little girl sounds like a diamond! I've seen photos of some skunks that scratch doors and skirting boards 'til it's nothing more than splinters.
