Default Barbary macaques

Just back from my holiday in gibraltar, where I got totally overexcited at meeting the monkeys!

The babies were adorable, getting close to the macaques was easy as they are so habituated to people, but this little cutie was grooming my feet while I was busy watching another pair of babies!

They were so gorgeous I didn't want to leave them! By not looking directly at them and staying non-threatening you can get so close without scaring them it's unreal. A tourist was badly bitten on their arms that day, I can only think they tried to touch or intimidate one of the monkeys.

Haha! We did see someone get mugged for a carrier bag. There are warnings about not taking them because the monkeys will try to steal to see if there's food.
