Default Frodo my gambian pouched rat...

so i have a Gambian pouched rat named frodo hes about 2-3years old and i got him off a man who really didnt want him no more because he was too aggressive i have spent about a year and a half taming him and hes come out of himself quite a bit he enjoys coming out to play just havent got to the cuddles yet but we're getting there, but recently he has been squeaking, well more like a bird call, i think this may mean hes happy but im not sure, is he calling for someone else or just saying thank you for his dinner??

It might just be the time of year that has made Frodo more vocal as they are naturally seasonal breeders in the wild.

You may have found him almost silent on his own but if you were to get a second you would know about it!

A pair 'talk' a lot at night and it sounds like you have a pair of large parrots screeching away.

I love the noises they make - I have a few in pairs and trios all making a racket at night

I actually find them much better in pairs.. My two are very vocal but no enough to keep you awake during the night!! My female tells my male off all the time its so funny!!
But i must congratulate you on taking on a older aggressive gambian.. U deserve a big pat on the back

We love to hear your story on your taming progress
