very nice set ups though most ratty people frequent the domestic section you may get a better response there

They will enjoy it - and trash it fast I would take the mesh floor from the bottom as they will filthy it and will be easier to clean without it - plus they quite like a little dig

How about putting tiles, on the cage base, rats can chew through the plastic base very easily, and tiles can be taken out and cleaned. We do this with degus. At least you have lots of toys for them to play with, that should entertain them quite well

Looks great but you're very brave taking on a critter2!! I agree that the mesh ideally needs to come out and it'd be worth covering the second level with lino or cardboard to protect their tootsies. If you want to gain a bit of extra space, you could take the ramps out as well. Ratties can easily climb up and down the bars so ramps really aren't a necessity.

You have a lovely selection of toys there...chinchillas2shop?? I'm desperate to get some stuff from them but I'm soooo skint . I betcha can't wait for the weekend, where are you getting the little cuties from? Pictures are mandatory!

ETA: before they arrive, you may want to consider moving the doors so that they open outwards instead of inwards. Believe me, it's so much easier to keep in potential escapees that way!
