thanks,

another question, 1/2 a year ago i had gineau pigs (sp) and after 3 healthy years they both suddenly died, we got another one and i died a few weeks later then we disinfected their cage with a vet's disinfectant and we bought bunnies, then they died just before their vaccinations :'(

so we used the disinfectant again and the cage has been in the garage for nearly half a year now, can i bleach it before the hedgehog to make sure their is abseloutly no disease in it? will it be safe? i would obviously reclean it after to get rid of bleach traces.

all advice welcome.

i take it this will be an indoor cage?

i would try to find out the cause of your other animals deaths before you use the same equipment as well, did they show any symptoms beofre they died? where they kept inside or out?

ok, 1 died in the indoor cage the rest died in the outdoor hutch. and i only need the indoor. no symptoms, just sudden death, but they dont show many symptoms anyway (says the vet). as for causes i cant say as they died half a year ago.
