We used to have one that was only slightly smaller than a British hedgehog, but sold him. Hogzilla, we called him. He was our one's son, but there was only one baby in the litter, so he grew and grew and grew!!

I have an albino female who weighs in at 550g-600g...she isnt fat either and quite healthy. When she was pregnant earlier this year she weighed 756g just before she gave birth to her 3 hoglets!! Her babies are following in her footsteps too...

They're still pygmy compared to our native hedgehogs, who often weigh over 1kg. Most APH don't reach the minimum hibernation weight of our native hedgehogs (approx 600g).
![]() Anyway I weighed my boy to see how much he is. The answer is... 733g as of today. I also tried to take a photo but he was more interested in following me around and playing as usual so this is the best I could get: ![]() |
