Royal feeding.

My 4yr old Royal weigh's 580 gramms..Can anyone suggest what size rat's I should give him..Yesterday I got 3 sml rat's while at work. I was unable to keep frozen so when I got home they had defrosted.I fed him 1 which he walloped down..I thought rather than waste them I would put them in the viv so if he wanted them they were available..Lo and behold within half an hr they were gone..I was wondering what the largest rat I could give him would be..His body is wide but I'm not sure what size to give him cos of his neck size...Hope you guy's can help....

i personally would say small to medium rats depending whether his weight is in length or girth. my male is 700 grams and on medium rats, hes about 3ft in length!
others will rpobably give you a more indepth answer im just a keeper not a breeder!

You can give him anything up to 1.5 times the diameter of the widest part of his body, however, I suggest nothing as drastic as that, something the same girth as him is adequate.

At that weight, I'd expect Small/Medium Rats to be sufficient.
