Question Waxworm questions

Ok, complete noob when it comes to insects etc.

I have just bought some waxworms for my gecko and don't know what to do with them lol.

A) How do I feed the gecko the worms? I have a meal worm feeder do I plonk them in there too or hand feed them? And how often should I feed?

B) What do waxworms eat? Do they need to eat to stay alive or what?

C) How do I know when they are turning to moths coz I can't be dealing with moths lol. Complete fear of them lol

Any other useful info is greatly appreciated lol.

Thankies!

B) What do waxworms eat? Do they need to eat to stay alive or what? Nothing is needed, keep them in the fridge. They will go into a state of hibernation. Take out what you need ,let them warm up and voila

C) How do I know when they are turning to moths coz I can't be dealing with moths lol. Complete fear of them lol They will go dark and turn into a cocoon before they turn into moths, we put the cocoons outside so the moths have a chance

Any other useful info is greatly appreciated lol.

Thankies!
The above is how we deal with waxies

Ooh I see, and yes Leopard gecko lol, I forgot that part.

How long will they survive if I don't put them in the fridge?

Not sure, we have always put 'em in the fridge. Wouldn't have thought too long if they are kept warm.

Well they are room temp, so not that warm in my rooms case lol. Its like a bloody fridge in here half the time.

I'll have to enquire about putting them in the fridge, my mum has only just over the fact I keep mice in the freezer lol.

Ahh i see, well keep them in the pot they arrived in, and when cold they go into a hibernation like state, so no chance of them escaping.

2 a week to each leo? I thought they should only be fed as a treat?

That is their weekly treat. I know people who feed more, and people who feed less.

Dont feed too much or they will become adicted and it is extremly hard to get them to eat other things
