Default Assist feed

my cb08 albino royal python having her 3rd assist feed, i thought id post it as i think alot of people struggle to get there hatchlings feeding, hopefully after this 3rd attemp of assist feeding she will start feeding her self the next time i feed her!

assist feeding can be very tricky and needs alot of patience. To assist feed you must first try and hold your snake firmly behind the head ready with its pinkie/rat pups and nose first, gently rub or tap on the mouth till she/he starts to open, once opened gentley push the mouse in and if your lucky 95% of times the snakes natural responeses will kick and the snake will clamp down onto the mouses head and take the mouse, as shown in this vid clip.....

please note that it is not always recommend to try this and is seen as a last method of feeding, this method can also be very stressful for your snake and yourself.

i hope this clip gives an idea on how to assist feed your snakes 0-3 month old
p.s the rat pup in the clip is the secound attempt basically its a fresh one from the previous one that i left in his box from the night before

Also it always seem to help if the pinkie/mouse is warm, i just leave it on a heat mat for a minute or 2

Well I've assist fed a couple of members corns on here lately and I don't think it's a very good idea at all unless they refuse live.
The ones I assisted refused live and 'live assist'.

I ended up having to assist/force feed mouse tails and it was awful to have to do.
I was stressed and I'm sure the babies were as well.
From what I can gather one is still being assist fed and the other two I've heard nothing aobut but they kept their 'tails' down and the owner was going to keep on with assist feeding.

I must admit one 'live' feed and the royal I had ate defrost. I don't know if corns are more difficult!!!!!!
