Default Think I'm gonna move onto Locusts for my Beardie

Hey I think im gonna move my Beardie onto Locusts as hes pretty big now, a few questions:

Do Locusts hop as much as crickets
Do they make noise ( E.g like crickets chirping )
and finally are they easy to breed

Thanks

They probably hop worse than crickets, but they're much slower and i find them very very easy to spot and catch if they jump out of a tub / bag when dusting.

I tried to breed them for about 5 months, but had no success. I kept them at the right breeding temperature, and fed them obscene amounts of veg, but nothing. So i switched back to lobster and dubai roaches.

There are some very good breeding links on here though if you want to do a search and give it a go.

locusts jump like hell ,you open the lid and they jump all over and they dont live long .
crickets can be a pain (i have cricket catchers all over for lose ones lol)
but from what i have read are a better food for beardies all mine love them ,i have to buy diffrent sizes for diffrent aged beardies ie large for the adults and small for the babys .
also mini meal worms in shallow dish with chopped up veg ,they get a mouth full of veg and meal worms lol .

i used to work breeding live food for a living a few years ago now. basic difference between breeding crickets and locust are............locusts need a much hotter temperature, not as humid as crickets, also eat LOADS of veg hope this helps
