Well what I was told Is you just get some mealworms, And leave them, Keep feeding them and they will produce, so im not sure how many beetles you need! Just buy some mealworms and stick them in a Tupperware tub/box!
are needed to start producing mealies ???
what is needed for them to lay ???
how many can they lay at a time??
Realistically you could use 1 female and one male lol, i started off with a few beetles and now have loads.
In order to lay they need to get it on... if you mean what substrate they need to lay just use wheat bran or crushed up weetabix
Think they can lay 100 eggs in their lifetime
i only had two adult mealie tubs (the ones they come in when you buy them), and now i'm onto my second wax worm tub housing all the aliens i'm getting!!! there's more every single time i check, which is turning into four times a day!!!
Why don`t you just take a couple of handfuls of mealies, seperate them in a crix box or the like, and leave them somewhere warm? Possibly within a week or so, all the mealies will have turned into mealie bugs and you have the basis of your breeding colony!!!
