Interesting Feeders

Has anyone used anything a bit different for feeder insects? Crickets stink, mealworms, morios and waxworms are fairly fatty (especially the waxworms!), locusts cost a fortune and roaches freak me out.
Ive been considering breeding earthworms for the skinks but i have a feeling they may end up as successful as my attempts with land, apple and garden snails. Lots of effort to gain sweet FA from it.
I like the look of banana roaches but theyre rather tiny and fly so thats not a great idea.

I'm having a go with edible snails at the moment but progress is slow... I'd be interested in other unusual feeders too as I like to offer lots of variety...

Im also tryin garden snails atm but having no luck,

im going to try some GALS as soon as i find an adult pair,

i was also looking into earthworms but not too sure they breed that quickly do they,

ive also looked into maggots as fly larvae is generally a good feeder, i found quite abit on nutrional value of them and they stck up not too different to mealworms and crickts tbh, and you could breed pints of these a day if you needed to

the problem with maggots is the flies that are needed. Its one of the reasons i havent tried breeding calci grubs, i dont want flies everywhere. Its a shame that mealworms are so fatty, theyre super easy to breed!

go for roaches, you literally never need to handle them and they are so scared of everything that they just hide. they never escape either unless you provide them a floor level hole to do so.

been there, theyre the most disgusting things in the world bar spiders. My lot didnt even like them either.

I'm going to try woodlice - Saedcantas has said they are ok and high in calcium - and Lotte knows her stuff!
