Talking Large clutch of mice!

I thought this was a respectable clutch, especially for this time of year.

A couple of different litters in there!!
How many adults do you keep in the cages?
What feed are you using and where do you get it?
I've been using my Shitamite mix same as the rats but as the mice are feeders I could do with some cheaper feed.

I have just got myself 6 of the long mice lab cages they are a lot easier than regular tubs and cages. I'm going to get some more when I can afford them.

I'm getting litters of around 15-20 at the moment, I did have one of over 25 though, so I'm only having pairs in the cages as any more does with that number of young would well overcrowd it.

Congrats mate tis a good couple of litters.
One little tip though, I have found that if you thin out all litters as they are born the remaining mice grow lots quicker.
What i do (as i need pinkies as well as all other sizes) is:-
as a mouse gives birth i remove 1/3 of the pinks, then leave them for a few days and then remove a couple of fluffs or fuzzies. Then leave again for a while until there are larger mice then remove some more (small- medium sized). Then the rest will be left to grow on to become large mice for feeding or replacement breeders. I still get way more adults or large mice for my requirements. I only have 30 collonies of mice and these more than feed 100 adult snakes and there followers and hatchlings (this year i had nearly 400).

I do the same but not on the same scale as you. I only have a dozen snakes and the beardie so dont' need as many.

I countd one litter, that I missed, there are 29 babies in the one litter. I know it's only one as the mice are just pair!!!!!!!
I took all but 10 out as they look around 10 days.
I've been that busy this week they didnt' have their usually weekly clean out!
