Some may pupate, its unusual, because there is no diet to feed them on, so they are unable to grow further once they leave chile.
The moths are similar in size to Wax worms.. The irradiation prevents them from breeding, not from becoming moths. This is because they are known as pests outside of Chile, and it prevents them becoming such. Hope this helps. |
