Question Fruitflies - How do you culture them?

Hi folks.

Has anyone got any tips for culturing fruit flies.

Not using stinking dried milk?

cheers for any pointers

Bassically get a colony that has flies You will then need a jar with cotton wool or shredded paper and some mashed banana. put some flies in and put a piece of material over the top with an elastic band

We use two different types of culture here, the commercial mix from BladesBiological (like potato flakes, sugar and yeast) takes longer to get going but is consistent for a much longer period, the other is a homemade fruit and oats mix which peaks rapidly and en masse for a week to two weeks max.

If either of these sound good to you I can explain in full detail
