Question Are Lobster roaches houdini's too??

I've just bought a colony of lobster roaches, and after placing them in the holding tank (old aquarium) was more that a little surprised at how well and how fast the can climb up vertical glass...

Anyways, are they as likely to slip out of a viv through the gap in the sliding glass doors as those darn crickets..??

If soo what is the best method of prevention

All info gladly received..

Hand feeding. Personally i wouldn't just put them in the vivs 7 leave them as they will escape if not eaten.

I had the same problem with my roaches. I used some sticky backed draught excluder between the glass sheets. try and get the fabric backed one as it will slide smoother as opposed to the rubber stuff.

Thank you all....

Will certainly follow up on the draught excluder / velco barrier between the glass

I tried to got hold of some dubbies after the new year but they seemed scarce and cost silly money (one guy was selling a colony for £100 ..)

I, bein over-cautious put TWO 2 in bands of vaseline around the upper part of the tank...

bleedin critters walked straight thru it...

Make sure the vaseline is really smeared on and that the layer is around 2 inches wide. As long as the vaseline is kept clean they can't climb it. As for feeding, definately hand feed these.
