Default Locusts strangely died?

Hey, I recently started buying my locusts in bulk for the first time as it was more cost effective. However after a few days a few of them started lying on their backs with their legs twitching and eventually died! A day or two later and the entire tank did the same, nearly 50 adult locusts and I have never had this happen before! They are kept in a disable tank and fed lots of salads and veggies with bug grub and bug gel for water. Anybody had this problem before I'd like to know please,
Cheers Lee.

I had about 300 Crickets in a container and it became damp and mould grew, it killed around 80. I put them in a better tub with really good ventalation but for the next week or two they kept on dying. I don't think they could recover. Not sure if yours is the same problem.

If you don't wash friut and veg properly the pestisides can kill them as well.

i found that if you remove the dead ones as quick as posible you can delay the rest of them from dying as fast, but this was with crickets

Maybe a contaminated food source?

I've founf yellow banded locusts to die really easily and seem not to last that long. Migratory locusts (brown / orange) are a different kettle of fish, really, lively, almost like crix and seem really hardy.

Did you wash all food that you put in with soap and water? Ive lost thousands of locusts because of pesticides, it takes alot longer to feed but it saves your colony from dieing

I have also suffered from a bulk bag of 50 adults keel over and die due to a fungal infection, lost the lot in a couple of days.

In general from what Ive found, pesticides cause the locusts to lose coordination, stumble and thrash around alot before dieing after a couple of days.
You dont need to add water if youre feeding fresh greens

Recently ive found alot of shops are selling ex breeding stocks for adult locusts, so they wont last anywhere near as long.

This has meant i have had to buy XLs and let them grow for 5 days.
