Default cricket keepers and cricket jam..

I keep my crickets in a cricket keeper but on a few occasions i've had 'cricket jam' in the tubes where it's as though the crickets have fused together making a big 'jammy clump)

is this just bad luck or crap crickets?

i've got a 2ft fishtank, would it be better to keep them in that instead of the cricket keepers?

When I used Crickets, I used to get that.. I'd shake the tube then look and could still see crickets.. :S A few manage to stick themselves and die in the tubes.
Im thinking it was overcrowding in the tubes.. silly critters.

its some pretty severe over crowding, it can be like that with days and you end up shaking a bit sticky lump out..

In the end, I stopped leaving the tubes in because literally all of them would cram up the tube (I only ever used one tube so there's my problem!)
Thank god for Locusts anyway, I hate crickets.

i use 2 but they always seem to use 1.

i might try the fish tank, see if that's any easier and fill it with toilet rolls.

it's one of the large ones and usually half a bulk bag. I put a few loo rolls in as well for hiding places but they seem to like melting into the tubes.

Only happened a few times though and i've had a few bulk bags.
