Minimum is 75gal. They get upto 14" so about 2ft wide is good. Of couse, this is for one oscar and no tankmates. There's no general rule with oscars for taank size with tankmates... I know of some oscars that will live with anything it cant fit in its mouth in a 75gal, and then i know of some that have killed tank mates in a 150gal. So it depends on the oscar really.

And you probably didn't wanna know that. But yeh... 14" fish so at least 3.5ft x 1.75ft x 1.75ft on it's own.

75 gal is best size but Just one can live in a 55 gal , no reason why you cant upgrade tank as it grows as a lil baby oscar in a 75 gal will make a really boring tank for a year or two untill its grown.
