Angry Tank full of dead fish - Barry

Just been into a pet shop in Barry. They had a tank full of about 15 goldfish and they were all dead apart from one who was on its way out. Told the guy serving and he wasn't at all bothered about it.

Happened before too when I saw one of their beardies with what looked like a foot that had been chewed off. Recent one too as there was still fresh blood on the wound. Told the girl and she just said oh I'll sort it now and went back to her Sudoku.

I'd stopped using them after the beardy incident and started going to Cardiff Reptiles for food and stuff. Popped in cos I was passing to look at the rodents and stuff. The shop's too small and you can't get round anyway. There was a really nice rat cage though 3 levels with loads of tunnels and stuff too. No price on it unfortunatley though. Perhaps just as well.

Most small pet shops are all about the profit and not the animals welfare.
You could try reporting them but not sure where it wuld get you.

I agree, but for your own peace of mind, maybe you should report it.
Word of mouth is a powerful tool, so posting it on here was a good idea.
May also be worth posting on a dedicated fish form to alert the masses ???

There is a aquatics/reptile shop on the Wirral near me which I try not to look at the reptiles in. All the leos have very skinny tails if they have one at all and there never seems to be much food in the vivs. I'm tempted to report them to be honest as seeing reptiles in this state makes me cringe.

Don't think I'm allowed to mention the particular name of the shop but if you're in S Wales, you'll know ! It's an aquatics shop in Radyr....me and the other 'arf went down yesterday to buy a new marine tank light and while we were there, we had a nose at the fish. The state of some of the marines was appalling. We saw a few 'flicking' and scratching at first and by the time we got to the other end of the marine lot, the last few were plastered in huge white parasites. It was disgusting. It definitely wasn't ich or velvet becuse as we watched, these white 'spots' were jumping across the fish's bodies. AND they had the cheek to mark these fish up at £40-£60 each.
I pointed it out to the young kid in the shop who said they've been treated but it put me off buying any fish from there that day as if the shopkeepers had put a net in one of those tanks and then used it in, say, a freshwater tank, the whole shop would have been infested .
