Default Urgent please

HI all.

I'm writing this for a frined. they have a goldfish and within 3 days its going black. and by the minute its getting worse.

its the head, fins and belly.

Theyve done water change and all but not sure waht it can be.

Any ideas?

ok what size is the tank and do you have the results of Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? are there any other fish in the tank and did they cycle the tank before going in? I think it could be Ammonia burns

They havent done a test as its only a week into having the fish, its by its self. I think it was set up a few days before putitng the fish in.

is there anything she can by from the pet shop? or is the fish dying?

I'm no good at this sort of things lol

Tell them to do small daily water changes.

The only thing she can do is carry out several large water changes, also cut out the food. Fish often change colour due to stress which can be brought upon by poor water quality. A few days is too soon to start adding fish, she should have waited and given the filter a chance to cycle properly, a process that can take several weeks.

they often revert from black/brown to gold as opposed to the other way round though?
