I picked up a tube of aquarium sealant at my LFS for about a fiver. It worked perfectly for repairing two of my tanks. One tip would be to let it "cure" for a couple of days and then test it with some water overnight before setting up the tank again.

That's still around 87 litres of water to flood your room if it goes bud.

To be honest if funds allow you might be better off getting a new tank because if that tank does break open thats your home messed up big style.

you need to fix the glass together with glass glue first. then aquarium grade sealant along the inside of the joins. One that is pure 100% silicone and doen't have those anti mildew/bacteria crap in them. I found www.absealants.co.uk is generally the cheapest for a decent amount of silicone. AB Sealants Ltd

use water with a dash of fairy liquid in it and a pair of plastic/latex gloves to gently smooth and finish the silicone layer.
