Default Tank Mates

What would be a good fish to keep with Tigers barbs, Clown Loaches, RTBS and Plec?

Lookin for a lively fish but not sure what will look good.

I like the look of Pimelodus pictus but heard i need quite a few and wont be upgrading tank for about 6 months

With the barbs I personally wouldn't put them with slow or long finned fish, Angels, Gouramis, Bettas, Guppies ect
It will also depend on how many you have, I'd say 6 at least, but 10 plus is best, this way they're supposed to squabble with each other rather than the other fish.
Clown loaches and cats are fine, both fairly peaceful, but will eat small and slow fish. So I'd maybe go for some cories, depending on the shark (Mine would chase and attack them, especially if they went in his area). I'd also go for other barbs, maybe large tetras (I love Beunos Aries, but are a bit mental). Maybe loaches. Lotsa stuff really.

Clown loaches would be good, I've read that clown loaches like to swim with tiger barbs becuase they think they are a tiger barb when they see the same colours lol.
depends how big your tank is, silver sharks maybe, dont put red tail/red fin sharks in though as they dont get on.

They already got clown loaches and a red tail lol I heard that they swim with the clown loaches too, not that I ever noticed mine do it.

Pictus Barb? Never heard of that one, my Clown Loaches and Tiger Barbs are always with each other.

more Tiger Barbs they allways look better in larger numbers.
Also not wanting to sound like a moaner but clown loaches get really big unless you have a huge tank I would swap them for some thing else, not saying that to have a moan just most people who have them dont have a tank the right size for them

I know all this already. At the moment they are only about an inch long but i am getting a 6 foot tank in the near future.

I like Green Tiger Barbs, would they shoal with the Tigers Barbs or not?

I'd get some Kribensis's. Beautiful fish and will readily breed if given a cave to hide in. They're very peaceful fish except when they have had had babies. They get really defensive of them and take turns to protect them while the other eats. Fascinating to watch!

Yeah, it's true. When I got some clown loaches the first thing they did when they were introduced was find the tiger barbs and follow them everywhere. The barbs seemed to accept them straight away. Once they were settled in though they began to stay with their own kind.

the only thing with kribensis is as you say breed very easily given the chance. then you are stuck with them! we had this problem and had over 60+ baby kribensis and couldnt get rid of them we tried selling to start with but then offered them free for collection! still couldnt get shot of them!
