Are Khuhli loaches suitable in my tank ?

Hi , this is my 1st post on the boards.We have a 65litre tank which currently has 5 cardinal tetras ,5 rummy nose tetras and 2 honey gouramis and lots of baby snails that must have came into the tank on the plants.

We have had our eye on some khuhli loaches for a while but are unsure if they would be suitable for our size of tank and the fish we currently have.I would appreciate it if anyone could advise us with this.Or if there was maybe an alternative that would be suitable with nice markings ect.

would be fine from the sounds of it, bear in mind they need a lot of cover nad you might also not see them for days on end, lol

as Dave says really, fine gravel is preferable as they like to bury but so long as you provide cover of some sort they'll be fine - they will disappear on you though

Yeah, don't be surprised if they go missing for three or four months and then appear randomly!

Thanks for your replies.Is there any other bottom dwellers that would be suitable and possibly fun to watch.I knew that they hid alot but maybe they hide alot more than i first thought lol.They looked really entertaining in the local shop but then they never had any gravel/sand ect in the tank.I think that's what drew us to them.

Get a small group of Corydoras catfish, different species will shoal together, easy to look after, most stay in the 5-7 cm rage, get a group of 6 and you will have a busy substrate area =] again they need a fine substrate

why not get a plec..not a common one though as they grow rather large...we have a chocolate adult plec and he is 6" long and a baby cown plec that don't grow very large.Cown oaches are rather nice and active

it's only a 65 litre takn, clown loaches prefer a group and have the potential to hit30cm, plus 90% of the plec species will probably get too big.

I love them, want to get some Brochis Splendens when I get the space ^^
