Default Would you have done the same thing????

Ok, just wondering whether you would have done the same thing, or am I completely in the wrong?

The other day my wife and I went into a nationwide pet store (lets call it Hets At Pome)to buy a few bits. We went in to the fish section and saw some really nice Glow Light Tetras. They were £1 each which I was quite with. Now, in this pet shop, one person catches the fish for you and bags them up. He then writes you a ticket which you take to the counter and hand over to the cashier. The Ticket said the Following

Glow Light Tetras 15 £1.00

Now obviously to you and me that's is 15 Glow Lights at £1.00 each (£15.00 ), however the girl behind the counter looked at the ticket, looked at me, told me she was new and hadn't done fish before, typed endless on her till and said "That's £1.00 please". Now, I thrust a shiny pound coin into her hand, grabbed my wife by the arm, said thank you to the girl and left quicker than I'd ever left a shop before.

Questions is, was I wrong or was it their fault for not training their staff properly?

When she took your £1 from you and rung it up the fish are legally yours.
Even if the mistake was realised(after the point of ringing up) theres nothing they could have done. You didn't need to rush out you could have carryed on shopping.

I'm also willing to bet that if any of the fish die over the next week you are also with in your right to even replace them.

You were wrong the moment you entered that shop lol

But fair play. Staff errors aren't you're fault lol

You were wrong and the fact that so many agree with you confirms what an underhand and scummy society we live in.

I'd say the fact that "told me she was new and hadn't done fish before" should've ment you cut her some slack.

You were in the wrong, that is without question.

Would I have done the same thing................???

When I was in my LFS and haddent noticed the sign saying 10% off I pointed out to the lady at the counter that there was a price difference and she said I was the only person so far to say anything.
