for a basic fish only your talking a tropical set-up + ocean/tuffa rock and coral gravel + a protein skimmer (~£90) + salt and you can use treated tap water for fish only

I'm going to say something to you that's been said to me by every person I've ever loved: I'm really disappointed in you, you are pathetic and weak, and I don't love you anymore. Get out!

If you do decide to go for a marine setup, it may be worth keeping your eyes on places like e-bay and preloved for fishkeepers selling equipment and setups when they upgrade.

I've seen some stunning setups for sale at a fraction of the price of the package new. Also things like skimmers etc..

Will be the way I will prolly do it when I get my dreamed for marine tank.

Hi guys, I recently took the plunge after 20 year of freshwater. There is a lot to learn and I am nowhere near confident yet! I would definately say go second hand though. Not just because its cheaper but because the hardwork has already been done, especially if you transport most of the water. I picked up my tiny nano tank (30l) with t5 lighting, skimmer, filter, heater, 8kg of live rock, coral sand, a maroon clown and three hermits (one blue leg) for the princely sum of £27 off ebay! I'm already looking to upgrade though and have just bought a bare aqua chromis (190l) and stand for £29, so the bargains are there if you look. Aquarist-classifieds is a good place to look too. Practical fishkeeping site is really friendly too (puts ours to shame sometimes) with lots of good info offered. I'd say go for it but do the reading.... .I still am!

I have a marine tank 200L which is custom made got it for £107 of eBay have been keeping marines for over a year now, and have learnt so much, and spent so much money LOL, I have a full on reef tank

I didn't have any problems with setting up etc, just was so nervous to add corals as they are so ££ but you can buy frags and start that way, which is what mine mostly are, bar a few!

You will love it!! I sit and watch my tank for hours!! so much fun!

Here is my tank
