Question any clues to this??

here is one of my emperor tetras and something weird is either in ,her or on her it looks like a funky worm and her lips is swollen too,
but ive never seen this before ive posted this on another site and there clueless too
it will be a massive help if ya knows

yes the picture sucks but i couldnt get it any better and she wouldnt stay bloody still!!

well i look them up and anchor worms attaches outside the body

It could be Gill Flukes. Not sure how common it is in tetras but might be worth a look as well.

Hey,
that deffinatley looks like anchor worm, a better pic would help, but from what i can see that's what it is. You need to treat your tank or every fish you have will end up with it. The treament is over a course of a couple of weeks and is very effective. Try parazin p.

more pic`s looks rubbish still but the best i could do


some of them u can see soreness one fins ,mouth,and lat-line
and the dorsal looks like it got bubbles? and the wormy thing is either in the mouth or in the lump
but not really outside unlike the one on the fin

what ever it is, up temp to 84oF and and a bit of tonic salt... probs do it in... or salt bath just that tera at about 84-86
