Weird goldfish eye??

Hi all!
I have a goldfish (marvin) that my friend got me as a prezzie! He came with an ulcer on his gill but that is starting to heal but he has the weirdest eye! From the side it looks completly black i thought he had no eye at first but if you look from the back it is orange like a normal eye?

any thoughts at what it is?? I can't find any thing in any of my fish care books??

Its perfectly Normal and nothing to worry about, just his natural colouration thats all.
