Question Is this alright ?

Im thinking of rechanging my tank.

keeping my angel fish and gourami and adding some little tetras (a couple of scoals of different ones) and my Question would be

What tetras are the best with these two fish and not growing too big.

and would female bettas get along with the fish ? As they are more communical then the male ?

With adding anything the size of a Tetra, it has to be bigger than your biggest fish's mouth.

Tetra wise i suggest cardinal or rummynose, avoid species like black widow as they will fin nip the angels, also a female betta would be fine, good to hear someone choosing a female instead of getting a grumpy male that will hurt angels and get its fins nipped lol

not necessarily true, although angels are opertunist predators they would struggle to fit anything larger than a neon, also adding the tetras before the angels and avoiding buying adult angels are ways to prevent tetras getting killed, as the angels will be raised on dry and frozen food and wont see the tankmates as food

I raised my angels from youngsters and they eat tetras lol I had Buenos Aries tetras with my Angels and although they left the Angels alone they were pretty ruthless with other fish. I'd go for cardinals as they just look brilliant with Angels. I also had black widows who lived with the angels and they left each other alone, they're in a diff tank now with all sorts of tetra and they're pretty peaceful and nearing 5 years, very fond of these.

The Tetra would be a very expensive way to feed the angels.

The angel and gourami is already in the tank. I have two lonely glowlights already with them in the tank and they havent done any harm to them. The angel and gourami and still very small and young (angel reaching about 2/3 inches from top fin to bottom and goruami about 2 inches in length) I see them in pet shops with tetras all the time, so though it wouldnt be a problem. But maybe it might.

I know at one time I will have to possible resale the angel and gourami as my tank wont be big enough for them fully grown. So what else (small fish) could i put with both of them to make the tank look prettier

Many thanks
Charlie

found out my angelfish is a friendly one and allowed tetras without a problem. brought 7 glowlight tetras to add to the other 2 and they all get along fine.

Thanks for the advice giving to me though.
