Default Shrimp tank help

I currently have a 3 foot (125 litre) shrimp tank in my garage, breeding cherrys, green and bumblebee all thriving nicely. I'm currently using two internal filters, both rated for 100 litres, but the filtration doesn't seem great.

I've got a Fluval 304 external off a friend, but not sure what the best way to cycle it for my tank is. Would i have to run all 3 for a few weeks, or would i get away with turning the two internals off but leaving the media cartridges in?

When i upgraded like this i moved all the filtration media in to the new filter and bulked it up with new media.

That way you don't loose anything and you get full and proper filtration.
