You can make one almost identical from ply, and paint it grey or black. Then just an opti-white tank on top.

I reckon that opti-white is worth the money... and there's a visible difference between that and normal glass, ang it has a cleaner, brighter look to it.

ive never used any plant supplements in any of my tanks
i only have marines at the moment, my last freshwater tank was broken down about 2 months ago, but here are some pics of it before it went.
this was the way it was before i rescaped it

then this was my fave and final scaping

only had argos play sand as substrate and no supplements. the amazon sword was about 3 inches when i bought it, and this pic is no more than 4 months after that

Ahh man that's a nice tank.

I've only added a few plants for now, once they're doing ok I fill it properly.

Will get some pics up once the water has settled.

Should really fill it all at once with all the plants...Stops algae from taking over.
Nice tanks pearson, you have some very good easy plants to care for in them; wisteria, ludwgia repens, rotala rotundifolia (I think), crypts...Apart from ludwigia repens and wisteria I have most of them them in my tanks(although I have had the other two previously).Liking the 2nd scape too. Some plants aren't looking their lushest though.
