Default Cold Water Fish

I have just got a fish tank and was wondering what type of cold water fish I could get for it. I want some that are a different but are not too hard to take care of can anyone suggest any?

What size of tank is it... do you know the volume?

What equipment do you have?

It is only a 17 inch fish tank and has a water pump and filter.

Goldfish won't stand a chance in something that small. I can't give you numbers, but a few danios should be ok in that.

agreed, definitely no goldfish, even fancy types, the tank is far too small.

i used to keep some fancy male guppies in a room temp tank, they did really well, looked great too with all the different colours
