Exclamation rats needed for breeding and non feeding royal

i brought a royal,,about 2 months ago now,,she was eating live when i got her,,cannott get her to eat frozen,,tried everything to get her going on them, even cutting the brain open nice lol..lots of other things as well,,i know no one really likes live feeding but i dont want her to starve,,if anyone has any breeders in kent area please let me know as i am gonna start breeding me own food,,i am gonna do most frozen but need live food for the one,,
unless anyone has any ideas on how the heck to get her to eat defrost,,i tried hair drying,,scenting with other food, cutting brain,,smaller and bigger food ,,leaving in dark place for night,,covering her nothing seems to help,,if any suggestion please or breeders

I have 6 that were live fed before I got them. Most took f/t right away, a couple took a couple off weeks but 1 refused for months. Tried absolutely everything. It didn't eat for the first 2 months then I started assist feeding and gave it the odd live to give it and me a break from the stress off assisting. I tried it one day with a fresh killed and it nailed it and hasn't refused since. Would mean you still have to breed your own though.

I've got a litter of ratties at the moment that will be ready to go in 4 weeks or so, nice mix of colours too if you were interested in breeding your own. Only downside is that its a bit of trek from kent to reading. Your probably better off finding a reptile friendly breeder closer to you. I know a girl who breeds ratties who's based in brighton, if your interested I can pass your details on.

thats cos pet shops wont sell live for the purpose of feeding, nowhere will, not down near you or up near me. Though it isnt illegal to feed live privately no shop will sell rats etc for that purpose alive. Also live rodents are the price they are cos they cost for their upkeep while in the pet shop..... how much does a frozen rodent cost to feed?..... nothin, so it isnt really a joke, its logical that they cost more!

Pm Wohic, she is a moderator but also a fantastic miracle worker when it comes to non feeders. She took one of mine and it stayed with her a year before it started feeding on defrost but now it still continues to do so. I really shouldnt have read this cos im a rodent lover i am of the thinkin that if my snake would only feed on live then it wouldnt get fed, though i suppose thats a good reason for me not to have many snakes anymore. ( no doubt ill get flamed for this but at least im honest )

How old is it? what kind of snake is it and how long hasnt it fed properly for?

how much does a frozen rodent cost to feed?..... nothin, so it isnt really a joke, its logical that ??????????? cost the same to get to that size,,,

if you brought a snake that had been fed live food since birth could not get it to eat frozen after trying all sorts,,would you let it strave then..cos i know i would nt///
also if you brought a snake off bob clarke for example..its been fed live since birth you tried to get it to defrost,,you would not try stunned to get it over after time thats just nasty..

its a 08 royal,,person fed it live since birth but he told me it was on defrost until i phone him after it would nt eat,,then he told me they had been on live from birth,,nice bloke ay.i put on here help needed not your abuse as people have helped me and am very greatful to them and trying there suggestions, but most of them suggest stunned

my other half is a rat lover herself and does not want me to go down that route,,but if i cant get it eating defrost well,,she has not fed for 2 months now and i need to feed her soon...if anyone can suggest anything else please do,,if you are offended by this mate you should not b reading treads on this section under breeding rats for frozen or live food

if anyone can suggest anything else i can try please do,as i,m stumped at present..thank you for all your help people
