i'm about to get my first crested gecko and was wondering how long a 4oz bag of base will last? also this may sound stupid but do they have a useby date/need to be used within a certain period of time after opening?

about 6-7 months for one gecko.
and the food last's around 10-12 months once opened, just keep it in the fridge. cheers
