Default Health , related Questions/Answers page???

I thought a health related questions/answers page may be a good idea to help people with answers to health related subjects with there reptiles/amphibians (i don't know if we already have one) just an idea , i don't mean for complex veterinary cases but for the treatable/preventable ones

The only problem is, the more you split up the forum, the less people frequent each area. Thats why this forum works so well: the main topics (snakes, lizards, inverts etc) are split no further than that. So each thread gets seen by many many people, and many replies, and questions get answered quickly, and there is a good chance: correctly.

If you segregate areas, eg. by putting all the health related questions into one part, then less people will go there, and less replies will be added to each thread.

Well, thats my opinion anyways.

Okay i understand the logic behind your answer and to an extent agree so what about a sub forum in one of the already established pages ?? and as one or two people are training or have worked in veterinary practices already use the forum im sure it would be a well used and informative page

Yeh, possibly. Still think it might not get used all too often. Might be useful though. As you say there are a few vets on here, a few vet nurses, and a couple of vet students (me being one). Whether we can, (or want to ) help via the internet is a different matter!

Surely the way to solve this should we/shouldn't we is to give it a go, and if it doesn't work just remove that section?

I think its a good idea, having an "Ask the online vets" bit lol.

I wouldn't hurt to try and is ultimately beneficial to the correct husbandry needed in keeping our reps/amphibs healthy and happy!!!!!

I already think it is a good idea but maybe if we condensed it into one slot for all reps and inverts and people could post and the vet peeps and experienced keepers would be able to find it all in one place. Plus if it was kept just for illnesses and not normal enquiries there would be less impact on the other parts of the forum
