Default Constant trouble in Domestic and exotic classfieds boards

I mainly use the invert classified boards and have never had a problem and I'm sure there're many other boards here that are just as good, however, the problem seems to be domestic and exotics classifieds.

When I say problem, I mean that in relation to the small pocket of members who are intent on disgracing and in general ruining peoples adverts. This has been through aggressive and abusive comments right through to general accusations of the sellers integrity. When we place adverts on the domestic and exotics classifieds we expect it to be just that, an advert. We post our advert there rather than in one of the discussion boards because we are not looking for discussion.

I fully appreciate that sometimes people need to post on the advert to ask a question relating to the sale. This is fine as it helps other potential buyers. But, people do not need to post accusations, degrading comments and general abuse that ruin the potential sale, but they still do.

At the moment the classified chat board is getting a few threads about the domestic and exotic classified board and the general problems associated with it of which I'm highlighting here.

The people causing problems are only a small pocket and easily identified. Despite being reported for their abuse of the board they just continue the next day. Firstly, full credit to the site team who clear up the adverts in a very short time limit, but, as you know who these individuals are can you not do something more? I've known members who post on the discussion boards with an aggressive attitude and been persistant with it have been subject to a ban for a short period and when they've come back and continued they've then been subject for a longer substantial ban. Yet the members who are ruining our adverts come back day after day to repeat their disruptive excercise.

As this is the suggestion board, I do have a suggestion, that is can the boards maybe be closed to replies so that interested parties have to pm the advertiser, or, if that is too far from the known, can there be a slightly harder approach to the members who are very intent on ruining everything we try to do especialy as we've identified them?

I aslo understand that there may be a response from members to this post of 'if you don't like it don't advertise', or 'it doesn't cost you anything so go somewhere else' , well that's fine, and I respect that opinion and it's because of that opinion that I'm placing this post in the suggestion section as I honestly find that there's a vast amount of people that meet online here that are the people that we're trying to reach with our adverts so this is potentialy an excellent advert section on RFUK. Without doubt the invert section is brilliant and I was confident that the Domestic and exotic classifieds was too, but it's not, due to these people, but has the potential. This is a suggestion, not a rant. I'm highlighting a problem and suggesting a solution, if people wish to pretend the problem doesn't exist then that's fine but I'm just trying to highlight to the site team a subjective fair point as a member and advertiser.

Keep reporting the problem users.

If we get lots of reports about the same user making unwanted comments on peoples classified advertisments we will warn/infract and if necessary remove their access to the classified sections altogether.

I'll try keep a eye on the section in the mean time.

I have to admit though, T-Bo when it comes to a lizard or a snake leaving its mother to early... the worst thats going to happen is maybe its going to be a little smaller thats about it...

When it comes to a puppy or a kitten real issues can occur... such as behavioural problems, i know, beacuse i foster and have adopted kittens that wouldnt be able to get homes due to their behaviour...

Its difficult when you have people on here who absolutly love animals, so much so, they get upset and hurt and care that there are 6 week old kittens being sold.... and even more so when the person says... 6 weeks is ok beacuse moggies (are apparently) different to pedigree... ALL kittens puppies etc need socialising.. the people who sell them wont see what happens when they sell their animals early.. the people who buy them will.. Most adult cats in rescue centers are these animals who leave to early and therefore have behavioural problems, SUCH as... biting scratching etc etc etc

Now this is very interesting.

I've posted this thread for the site team to look at and decide what action to take and I clearly stated that within the domestic and exotic classifieds there are people intent on causing trouble by making comments on adverts that are absusive, unwanted and damaging to the advertisers integrity. Now within my original posts I gave no members names but yet the site team are fully aware who I was talking about as they removed the offending posts from mine and others adverts, so to general members just having a look at this thread on the off chance they wouldn't have a clue who was being spoken about.

Yet you come along and post that....

So now everybody knows.........I don't wish to engage in conversation with you, but you've only gone and shown your guilt with your post.

An example of exactly why the domestic and exotics classifieds needs clearing up from people abusing it like this said member. Did you say I was advertising at 6 weeks? so yet again you are doing exactly what this thread was designed to highlight. My Advert did not once mention 6 weeks, it was 7-8.

Regardless of what my advert stated, what business is it of yours?

I'm sorry, as you've ventured with your ulmighty confidence onto my thread, please explain to everyone who's viewing this...why you ruining our classified adverts with your comments? this is your time to shine surely? I'm sure t-bo will view this now knowing who we are talking about and come to his own opinion as you can't force him to stop posting like you're trying with us and other members when we post an advert on the domestic and exotic classifieds can you, it's hard to say otherwise now isn't it?

Anyway, this was a genuine suggestion for the site team and even on this you have to ruin it.

I'll let the site team and every other RFUK member decide what's going on from your wonderful post
