Default RFUK Articles..?

RFUK Articles Seems cool, I like it.

However, are we not then validating someone's views against someone elses? Saying "Yep, this view is correct, follow it.", which is pretty much the opposite of the point of the forum?

Sorry... you know I dont like to criticise

You can reply to the article if you have any questions, or feel there is something wrong/missing.

Kind of like you could to a thread? Like you can rate a thread, subscribe to a thread, and ask questions in a thread?

So, bascially, it's an "approved" thread, with slightly more "approval" than a stickied thread?

Pretty much the same as a thread, but in a different format.

There is an option to submit an article, like you would a thread, not sure if it has to go through an approval process though

I love the idea, although i think the category, "Livefood Articles" should be added instead of putting them in general.

Pretty much every article in there so far is a sticky somewhere on the forum, so its not really any different.

Hmm, that submit button shouldnt be visible at the moment it wasnt when I was testing last night. For the moment we were going to have it so that articles can only be moved there by a mod (suggestions more than welcome). I am looking at having the submission available, but requiring authorisation before being published. Your right about too about it just being a thread but in a different format.

Should be a pretty cool feature in the future and is a good way of keeping good information easily accessable, the trouble is you can only have so many stickies etc so having somewhere else to 'publish' good information should be usefull.

Any other feedback welcome of course.

Cheers

Of which, this kind of answers.

Fair enough... I just like to complain

As long as it's clear your not endorsing them, which was what worried me

It does look to be a useful feature, and it might be better than having a lot of stickies at the top of each page.

Not sure how many people will see it in the function bar.

Once you get things running a bit more and further articles are published, it might be worth putting a link at the top of each section to it.

Ok, that might mean another sticky, but it could replace the current stickies in each section as they would be moved into the article section.

I can see the concerns about the articles coming across as the 'best and only' way, but I am sure most people will understand that it as purely more information to use as research to base their own opinions on.

Although, will it mean the end of the caresheet section? I would guess a lot of articles will be caresheets.

Not going to replace stickies or caresheets at this point, its just another place to find the same information.

I was considering moving some of the stickies into the 'care sheet and FAQ' sections now they are as a sub forum in the appropreate sections, the care sheet subsections are getting alot more use now they have been moved and the amount of stickies in some forums is getting silly just seing how it goes atm...
