Default adding an 18+ clause to dwa section

just as a deterrent to stop young people getting in over their heads without the experience/help behind them

On the flip side, young people who hope to get a DWA responsibly who want all of the knowledge possible before taking the dive wouldn't be able to get much help. Don't tar every young person with the same brush, there's plenty of adults on here who are much more immature then a lot of the younger people!

There is no reason why people under 18 shouldn't be able to appreciate great pictures, breeding successes and interesting information. You have to be over 18 and reasonably competent to get the license anyway, so I don't really think there's a big issue with kids ending up in dangerous situations.

i totally agree with you megan

im not under 18 but i browse and read the DWA section as i find it interesting

I think its a good read for anyone interested and a place for the young people who are intersted in DWA in the furture to learn from experienced keepers of the species

Would a local authority give a DWA licence to someone under the age of 18? I doubt it.

no they wouldnt

but there are younger people that want to learn for when they are old enough to obtain the licence..........why should they not have the right to do that on a public forum ?
