The iTrader system is to give people an idea of how trustworthy a buyer or seller is. The rehome sections is not for buying and selling, its for rehoming. Sure money often changes hands, but thats not really what the section was created for.

What I think the reasoning behind this is,

That some people aquire an animal as a recue and then sell it on with no trail left to follow.

Also there are some good rehomers and rescues and there is no feedback route to show this.

But, when people resell - they usually do it like a month or two down the line.

So, person B is a rescue, they rehome animal to person A. Person A is really nice, polite, turns up, pays the fee, has the setup. Person B is happy. Person B leaves appropriate feedback.

A month later, it's resold - feedback has already been left as positive though?

I know where you are coming from, but at least there's a trail left that's easier to find and follow.

Taking your example that somebody gets a rehome and feedback is left, if that person decides to sell for profit the prospective buyer and the rehome centre can see that this person was selling the animal on and at least be aware.

Not months down the road, which is normally the case.

I think it is a good idea to have feedback.
Or maybe just put comments on the thread but I can see that turning in to a chat thread situation.

T-bo, can you suggest any other way or us showing our appreciation to dealers on the re-homing section please?

"dealers"

As for showing appreciation, perhaps a well crafted Private Message would be a good way to show appreciation... failing that flowers or a nice box of Roses

That would be nice, but it's not public and does not stop the rehomers that are in it for the money

The "dealers" you mean? :P

However, how often does the situation come up where re-homed animals have been resold on RFUK? im a Mod and even I cant remember the last time it happened. I can remember times that animals have been bought on the classifieds and resold, they always get flagged up and people dont like it... but it isnt breaking any rules.
