Just a thought

Over the last few weeks there has been alot going on and alot of bad publicity in the reptile community, with reference to ReptileRescueDen, ReptileRescueHull (both new and old), Terrapin Rescue and the RSPCA, Also there seems to be alot of 'slanderish behavior' towards comments made by certain people who IMHO have more experience and knowledge than others,

Also i feel that the rescue centres should be able to get on with what they do, and members should take note of the following and think about what they say before saying it

ReptilerescueHull is now under 'new management' and we should put Anthony in the back of our minds and allow Tina and Lee to bring the centre back into a reasonable and working state so that the animals get what they need,

As for Terrapin Rescue and ReptilerescueDen, these should be left to continue there work and its down to them to decide if they want to affiliate to another rescue centre or not.

As for the knowledgable people, i feel there are members on here that do not know how much experience people like Nerys, Rory, Mo Collison and Chris Newman have or hgow well they are connected when it comes to the laws and welfare of reptiles,

As for the RSPCA we all should now know that some of their work is good but is out weighed by the bad work they do, also that they think they 'know it all' when it comes to animals, so lets keep it to sensible critisms

Therefore i think we should all let bygone be bygones and get on with what we do best and look after our reptiles the best way we can.

Well that my opinion and feel free to comment, but this isnt being started to start slanging matches so please only post constructive comment.





One last thing TBO and his team of Mods do, do a great job and allow alot more stuff to go on, than other forums do, yes some people may think some of the Mods are biased, if this is the case speak to them and to TBO, dont make em 'dirty laudry' in public. Keep up the good work guys n girls

Hi Riley.

With regards to the above comment, I truly wish that to be so,but have nagging doubts about the correctness of that statement, due to the fact that when I went back to RRH web site, both Tina and Lee's names had vanished along with their statement that they had taken over??????????????????? Then I thought I recognized a certain style of writing, so went to look at RRH, (Tina) profile, and there on reading back found that Anthony has posted there a lot, and that it was his style of writing that was standing out from Tina's, so until confirmed in the open by one or another, I believe that Anthony is still very much part of RRH, or even back running it after a few days break away.

Anyone care to please prove me wrong?

Have to say, I was guilty of that one, and as such gave them a public apology on here, and can assure you of the fact that I won't be rushing in with any further such comments in a hurry.

In my opinion people are always going to get into these heated arguments that have gone on, it's not just recently they have as some people believe they have only just been started. But they have always been there, only people have just begun to realise them. To be honest, i admit, i didnt know some of the names such as eddie munt, Chris newman (i had heard of him, just didnt know exactly what he did etc) and so on before. People are never going to let bygons be bygons.

As for the mods (including myself) we are people too, should we create a seperate account to which we use as mods just so that we can voice our opinions and get in heated (but kept to the rules) debates along with everyone else? We have reptiles too, we have opinions too! We don't go around on the forums swearing at everyone, or insulting people, but Alot of people seem surprised and as i have been called before "Not fit to be a mod" why? because i express my opinions on what i say. My opinions are rarely that heated but someone will always be offended by what anyone says, it's the way of life, there are what.. 12,592 members on here. The only thing bringing us together is the fact we keep reptiles. Most of us havent got anything in common, or if we do, it's only one or two things.

Now i lost track of what else i was going to say..
